FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What age groups do you teach?

We offer programs for children in grades 1-4, with separate programs for pre-K and adults. Our curriculum is tailored to each age group's learning abilities and interests.

Where are classes held?

Classes are held at community centers across multiple locations on weekends. Started in Charlotte, NC, Paatasala has expanded to serve Telugu families in several areas. Check our Locations page for the center nearest to you.

How much does enrollment cost?

Paatasala is a 100% volunteer-run non-profit. We charge a nominal registration fee to cover materials and venue costs. No child is turned away. For registration questions, contact Vijay Pagadala at 612-384-2465 or registrations@paatasalausa.org.

What curriculum do you follow?

We use a custom curriculum developed by our team of volunteer educators, focusing on speaking, reading, and writing Telugu alongside cultural education through arts, music, moral stories and festivals.

Do I need to speak Telugu at home?

Not at all! Many of our families are mixed-language households. Our program is designed to build Telugu skills from scratch, and we provide resources for parents to support learning at home.

How can I volunteer or start a chapter?

We welcome volunteers for teaching, event planning, curriculum development, and administration. If you want to teach Telugu in your area, Paatasala will provide complete support — lesson plans, exam papers and all materials. Teachers just need one hour per week. Email pr@paatasalausa.org to get started.
